A Timeline of Growth and Change: Arthur E. Levine's Presidency at Teachers College Teachers College has evolved in many ways under Arthur Levines leadership. The changes fall into three phases: rebuilding the broad foundation of the College; expanding for impact; and focusing on what the College believes to be the single largest problem in education today: the growing gap in opportunities and outcomes between the nations most advantaged and disadvantaged students. Login/Join Welcome, [ Logout ] ericthered Posted Aug 17, 2005 11:17 PM Okay, major dilema time. Getting married on 08/26 and I'm in need of some groomsmen gifts for six guys, ranging in age from 23 through 35. Two play golf, two don't drink, two don't live at their own place... So it rules out the golf stuff, flasks & mugs, or personalized art. Aside from that, it's getting late in the game and I'm still lost for ideas. I'm looking to spend $35-50 on each, and have already looked around for decent tickets to sporting events they'd all enjoy, as well as some of the more normal stuff out there. Trouble is, I want something decent and unique, without being useless for them. Any suggestions out there? Posts: 1 | Registered: Aug 17, 2005 conehead's bride Posted Aug 18, 2005 07:55 PM Ther e are some really nice things on this site. I hope it helps. Blue Nile Posts: 117 | Location: Finger Lakes, NY | Registered: Aug 15, 2005 rebeccak Posted Aug 18, 2005 09:16 PM they dont all have to get the same thing. there is plenty of golf stuff for the 2 that play, maybe the ones that are still at home would like the flasks, what about cufflinks? i am getting one of ours silver plated dominoes. have you tried looking at jean m Posts: 153 | Location: Baton Rouge | Registered: Mar 02, 2005 Megswinterwedding Posted Aug 19, 2005 12:22 AM We are getting the groomsmen really nice pocket knives. They have a pearl handle, and I think they are made by Buck. Posts: 30 | Location: Arkansas | Registered: Jul 23, 2005 Angela P Posted Aug 20, 2005 07:45 PM Key chains with their initials engraved on them would be useful for everyone. Maybe you could put the keychain in a men's trinket box or men's valet that could be engraved (you could check out Things Remembered). I found a nice men's keepsake box for $26 at weddingchannel.com. How about a sports picture, you know like a picture of their favorite football, baseball, or basketball player or team. Even the guys who don't have their own place might like it (I'm assuming they have their own room). Those are easy to find, you can even get them at the mall and they fit within your budget. All guys I know like sports memorabilia. Don't stress too much. I'm sure whatever you decide on will be wonderful. Guys usually aren't too picky anyway (but they sure are hard to shop for). Have a wonderful wedding! Posts: 6 | Registered: Aug 20, 2005 JalynnC Posted Aug 20, 2005 08:04 PM money clips and cuff links could be an idea too and they sometimes can be ingraved. [ Posts: 36 | Location: Peoria, Illinois | Registered: Jul 26, 2005 lady_megs Posted Aug 26, 2005 05:17 PM Like megswinterwedding said, you can't go wrong with pocketknives. At the store where I bought my dress, I saw silver plated computer mice that you could get engraved with their initials, which is cool if any of them are into computers or gaming. I mentioned it to FH and he said that they would be thrown on the scrap heap if they weren't optical (picky silly techies...) but it's worth the suggestion.
